چکیده
Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumour (IMT) is a relatively uncommon lesion and occurs in nearly every site of the body. Patients with IMT are usually asymptomatic, with a solitary nodule or mass detected by routine chest radiograph [1]. Many diagnostic procedures can be applied to make the diagnosis: computed tomography (CT) scan to outline nodule growth and perfusion, [F]-2-fluoro-deoxy-D-glucose (FDG)-PET/CT scan to evaluate metabolic activity and In-Diethylene triamine pentaacetic acid (DTPA)-D-Phe1 scan (octreoscan) to investigate somatostatin analogue receptors, often present in a variety of neuroendocrine tumours (NETs).

متن کاملInfantile Inflammatory Myofibroblastic Tumor with Terminal Ileum Obstruction
Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor is an uncommon benign neoplasm and its presentation in small bowel is rare. Due to clinical manifestation, laboratory data and radiologic results, there is an increased risk of over diagnosis as malignant tumors particularly malignant lymphoma in childhood therefore may be resulting in wrong therapeutic approach. However pathologic findings could be demonstrat...
متن کاملInflammatory Myofibroblastic Tumour: Report of a Rare Form with Exclusive Pleural Involvement
Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumour (IMT) is a rare scleroinflammatory lesion, characterized by a myofibroblastic proliferation with inflammatory infiltrates, with many possible locations and diagnosis based on immunohistochemistry. Pleural IMT is uncommon and is usually an extension of a pulmonary involvement. We report on a 28-year-old woman with a new form of this rare entity, characterized ...
متن کاملEmbryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma of the Adult Urinary Bladder: A Rare Case Report of Misclassification as Inflammatory Myofibroblastic Tumor
Embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma (ERMS) of the adult urinary bladder is a rare malignant tumour. Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumour (IMT) of the bladder is a benign genitourinary tumour that may appear variable histologically but usually lacks unequivocal malignant traits. Techniques like flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry may be used to differentiate these two tumours. Our patient, a 46-year-o...
